Senior Cricket
Highfield Cricket Clubs senior First XI and Second XI teams are members of The Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. Our Third XI are members of the West Lancashire Sunday League.

The senior teams have enjoyed great success over many years and continue to do well within league and cup competitions.​

1st XI
Captain: Ryan Hargreaves
Once again, I am over the moon to have the opportunity to captain the club again for the upcoming 2026 season. Last season we had so many positives across the club and one thing I was really pleased with was the contribution of club juniors right through senior cricket. The mix of experienced lads along with youth is something that we need to continue developing in order to be a success in the years to come and I believe we are in a place to do just that in the 2026 season. The addition of our overseas professional will of course be a big positive and I am looking forward to him joining the lads in April. As a group of senior players, we are determined to make 2026 a positive and successful one! Winter training is closing in and the season will soon be with us. Happy New Year and see you all in 2026
2nd XI
Captain: Chris Mcloughlin
It was an honour and a proud moment for me when the club asked me to be 2nd team captain after only being at the club for 12 months
Over the next few years mine and the clubs aim is to develop the younger players so that they are good enough to compete in the 1st team.
We have a good blend of youth and experience for the up coming season in the 2nd team and I see no reason why we can't challenge for a place in the top 4 in the keague.
3rd XI
Captain: Andy Rigby
I’m delighted to have been asked to captain the 3rd team at Highfield Cricket Club for the 2026 season. As a junior coach at the club for a number of years, I’m passionate about junior development and helping our young players enjoy their cricket while continuing to improve. The 3rd team provides a great opportunity to support our younger players as they transition into senior cricket, and that will be a key focus for the season ahead. I’m pleased to be supported in the role by other coaches, with an emphasis on creating a positive, inclusive environment for everyone involved. We’re also keen to encourage some of our senior and junior parents to get involved during the season and strengthen the link between the junior and senior sections of the club. I’m really looking forward to supporting the team and playing my part in developing our junior players through the 2026 season.
