As the new Chairman of Highfield Cricket Club, I’m both honoured and delighted to welcome you to a special part of our community.
Highfield CC has always been more than a cricket club — it’s a place where friendships are made, families gather, and the simple joy of cricket brings us all together.
This past season we’ve enjoyed great spirit across the club, from our junior players taking their first wickets and runs to the veterans still showing us how it’s done.
Looking ahead, we’re keen to build on that success — supporting and developing our youth cricket, maintaining our lovely ground, and ensuring that everyone in Highfield feels welcome, whether you play, cheer, or just enjoy a cup of tea at the boundary.

Our Club
Highfield Cricket Club is a well-established community club founded in 1924 and based at St Matthew’s, Wigan. Our senior teams compete in the Liverpool & District Cricket Competition and the West Lancashire Sunday League, with junior teams playing in the Wigan & District Junior leagues.
We run two Saturday senior teams, a Sunday senior team, and junior teams from Under 9s to Under 18s. The club is ECB-recognised as a Focus Club, holds Clubmark accreditation, and provides a safe, friendly environment for young players. We were also proud winners of Wigan Sports Club of the Year in 2010 and again in 2023!
